Roof and gutters in one visit on a forested Granite Falls lot
Conifer needles packed the valley and the gutters solid. We treated the roof and cleared the whole gutter system in a single trip.
The problem
Out toward the Mountain Loop, this house is surrounded by mature firs and cedars. The roof valley and the gutters along the back were packed with a dense mat of needles, seed pods and grit — enough that water was already sheeting down the fascia in the last big rain instead of running to the downspouts.
Two problems, one cause: the same tree litter that clogs the gutters also feeds the moss on the shaded slopes.
What we did
- Roof first, top-down. The needle mat was cleared off the roof by hand, then the shaded courses got a low-pressure soft wash with a biocide to kill the moss and algae at the root.
- Gutters hand-cleared. Every run was cleared by hand and bagged — nothing blown onto the roof or the beds — and each downspout was flushed and flow-tested.
- Faces brightened. The customer added gutter brightening — a soft wash of the exterior faces — so the whole line looked new, not just empty.
- Walked it together. We confirmed full flow through every downspout before packing up.
The result
The roof reads one even tone again and the gutters actually drain. Because both jobs happened on the same visit, the customer paid a bundled rate instead of two separate trip charges. On a lot this wooded, the honest next step is Raptor gutter guards so the trough stops filling in the first place.
