A gutter run packed solid with maple leaves — Arlington acreage
One long run had turned into a planter box. Cleared, flushed, flow-tested, and fitted with guards so it stays that way.
The problem
Long rooflines on acreage mean long gutter runs, and the run along the driveway side had gone past “needs cleaning” into “growing things.” A solid rope of maple leaves and grit ran the full length, water was overflowing at the low end, and the downspout was blocked.
On a rural lot, an overflowing gutter isn’t just cosmetic — it dumps water against the foundation and the crawlspace vents.
What we did
- Hand-cleared the whole run. Debris was scooped by hand and hauled away — not blown onto the gravel or the beds.
- Cleared the downspout. The blockage at the elbow was broken loose and the downspout flushed until it ran clean.
- Flow-tested every run. Water was run across all the gutters on that elevation to confirm full flow to the ground.
- Faces brightened. The customer added our gutter brightening add-on, so the “tiger stripe” staining on the exterior faces came off and the line looked new.
The result
The run drains properly again and the overflow at the foundation stopped. With this many trees and this much linear footage, the customer added a Raptor gutter guard section on the worst elevation so it doesn’t pack in again next fall.
